Rathwood Organic Wine

Originating from 9 hectares of Organic vineyards these elegant and cheerful wines are produced at source by a community of passionate young winemakers. Rathwood Organic Wine is a joyful celebration of family friendship between the Aboville family from the foothills of the Languedoc region of France and the Keogh family from the foothills of Co. Wicklow.

Organically produced with love, Rathwood Organic offers a smooth, well balanced wine with superb aromatic freshness and intensity.

Our white wine is an intense and ripe wine offering aromas of fresh fruit and peaches, while our elegant  red wine offers black fruit aromas with peppery notes.

Rathwood Organic White Wine

AOC Coteaux du Languedoc

A white wine produced from two varieties: Marsanne, aged in steel tanks, and Roussanne aged in wood barrels. The two wines blended together create this wonderful cuvée. The Marsanne grape offers aromas of fresh fruit and peaches. While the Roussanne brings intensity and ripeness, releasing notes of honey. The 2013 vintage is exceptional. Its unusual late harvest gave us the opportunity to create well balanced wines with great aromatic freshness. An ideal match with fresh goats cheese topped with olive oil, thyme or rosemary leaves, or even try with homemade sushi!

60% Roussanne picked the 10.9.2013, fermented and aged for 9 months in wood barrels, 40% Marsanne picked the 14.9.2013, fermented in steel tanks.

Rathwood Organic Red Wine

AOC Coteaux du Languedoc Pézenas

The pride of our work! A blend of Syrah and Mourvedre. Two thirds matured in steel tanks, one third in wood barrels. Very elegant, black fruit aromas and peppery notes, with mellow tannins giving an enjoyable length to this wine. The combination of wines aged in both barrels and tanks, gives the wine an extra complexity. The wine aged in the steel tanks brings more fruit and more aromatic freshness. Combining these two distinct profiles creates a balanced wine with good ageing potential.

80% Syrah picked the 6.9.2011, 20% Mouvedre, picked 29.9.2011, 2/3 of the blend fermented and aged in steel tanks, the remaining 1/3 was aged for 12 months in a 2nd wine wood barrel.
